Cochrane Farmers' Market

104 Griffin Road East
Cochrane, Alberta T4C 2B9

CEAC's mission statement is to work towards making Cochrane and area residents a more environmentally aware and active community.

Our objectives are as follows:

- To enhance awareness and educate about our inter-relationships with the natural world and the impact of our lifestyle choices on the health of the community and the Earth's ecosystems.
- To identify and undertake the projects that encourage environmental responsibility and a sense of community.
- To increase our effectiveness through partnerships and cooperation within local and global communities.
- To encourage participation and foster hope in the challenge of ensuring an environmentally sustainable future.

Since 1989, the Cochrane Environmental Action Committee (CEAC) has been involved in local and regional environmental issues. CEAC has approached environmental concerns as opportunities to seek solutions by engaging stakeholders, other organizations and citizens. This approach has garnered CEAC much respect and an esteemed position in the community.

The Cochrane Environmental Action Committee sponsors and operates the Cochrane Farmers' Market at the Cochrane Ranche Historic Site. The market is run by CEAC volunteers and all proceeds from the market go to support CEAC in its efforts to make Cochrane a more environmentally aware and active community.

The market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday, rain or shine, from the begining of June until the end of September.

The Cochrane Ranche Historic Site is located north of Highway 1A just west of downtown. The market takes place in the parking lot of the Ranche, a site that is ringed with mature poplar trees. The Town of Cochrane and the Ranche are popular destinations on Saturday mornings so we enjoy great attendance!

In 2008 the Cochrane Farmers' Market celebrated 10 years and we continue to grow, 2009 was our best year ever! We have loyal customers that visit our vendors each and every week. We're looking forward to another year of growth in 2010.
