In March 2007,Yasser Qahawish and Allison Mitchell purchased the Bookshelf Café in Guelph, Ontario and transformed it into Artisanale Café and Bistro, a French restaurant featuring Yasser's ingredient-inspired cuisine. Yasser continues on as head chef and owner.
Everything served at Artisanale is made fresh, in-house under Chef Yasser's skilled supervision. Our restaurant name is based on this concept. "Cuisine du terroir" suggests eating from the local land, and Artisanale's menus support this concept; first the freshest, local ingredients are chosen, and then they are prepared in Yasser's simple, yet sophisticated regional French style. We also have a well-stocked wine cellar featuring mainly organic and biodynamic wines.
Wellington County is blessed with a bounty of superb small farmers and we are delighted to feature products from their farms.
